Making records and doing live sound since 2014

Darren started out as a Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer designing such things as microwave death rays, fire-fighting bubble machines, thrust reverser actuators and pneumatic valves for aircraft and Stirling cycle solar power generators. It was fun while it lasted but alas, the grind and confinement of the office lost its magic. So in 2013, he built a recording studio and started recording and mixing his own music. From there, he started recording and mixing for his friends. And then recording, mixing and mastering for anyone who needed help with making their musical dreams a reality. While that was happening he started freelance work in live sound as well at venues including Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, Cardinals Stadium, and since 2022 at the Musical Instrument Museum theater. He also records his own music project under the name Ripples In Runoff playing all the instruments and singing all the vocals. And he is constantly working to improve his musical knowledge, recording prowess and mixing techniques to help people push their songs as far as their imaginations will take them.
